Feeding the “Young Man” in God’s Kingdom

NOTE: This article is Part 3 of 3 that relates to The Dietary Needs of Our Inner Man.

When a “little child” in God’s kingdom matures spiritually to become a “young man“, his diet also needs to change. The Bible indicates that “strong meat” is the change in diet that is necessary for continued growth to take place.

"But STRONG MEAT belongeth to THEM THAT ARE FULL AGE, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." (Heb 5:14)

Notice from this statement that Christians who mature at this level of spiritual growth:

  • Have reached “full age” (or are fully matured) and represent the “Strong Young Man in Christ” referred to in Heb 5:14;
  • These consume “strong meat” – spiritually speaking;
  • Christ also subjects them to having, “…their senses exercised to discern both good and evil” both inside and outside the church.

What is the Diet for a “Strong Young Man in Christ Jesus?

In the physical world, the “strong meat” for the Outer Man symbolizes eating the flesh of venison, moose, wild turkey, pheasant, kangaroo, etc. The physical benefits of eating this type of meat are stated below:

“Wild game is surprisingly leaner, relatively higher in Omega-3 fatty acids, lower in cholesterol (due to the low saturated fat content), as well as devoid of steroids, antibiotics and other additives because of their natural origin and active ways of life.”

Built Lean

We must appreciate that God the Father is each Christian’s personal instructor (John 6:45) — if allowed.

It is His desire that His “strong young men in Christ Jesus” learn to wrestle with the false doctrines of the evil one – Satan. This is because Satan has introduced false doctrines within the churches over the past two millennia to corrupt the church. God requires these to be exposed by His people, and in doing so, help save those who have been ensnared by these doctrines.

"For THERE MUST BE ALSO HERESIES AMONG YOU, that THEY WHICH ARE APPOROVED [unto God] may be made manifest among you." (1 Cor 11:19)

From the spiritual perspective, the following false doctrines represent examples of “strong meat” that God the Father requires Christians to wrestle with (theologically) and sometimes oppose in the churches that believe and preach these lies.

  1. THE NEW BIRTH:

    False Claim:
When one accepts Christ as their Savior, this represents being “born again”.

This false claim overlooks the words of what Jesus said:

“MARVEL NOT that I said unto thee, YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN.”  (John 3:7)

The ‘New Birth’ is an actual birth (albeit spiritual).  If it was a mere acceptance as Christians relate to it today, Jesus would have rebuked Nicodemas when he responded to Jesus by saying:

“…How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be [re]born?”  (John 3:4)

Therefore, unless each Christian has EXPERIENCED the “new birth”, it is doubtful they are ‘saved’ (John 3:5).

  2. The time Christ’s body was in the tomb

Many Christians falsely believe that Christ was nailed to the cross, died and was buried on Good Friday.  They then believe that He arose from the dead 36 hours later “early on the first day of the week – Mark 16:2.

In contrast to this, Jesus Christ plainly stated that His body would be in tomb for “three days and three nights” in exactly the same manner as Jonah was in the whale’s belly for the same period.

“For as Jonas [Jonah] was THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS in the heart of the earth.”  (Matt 12:40)

This means that Christ was crucified on a Wednesday (our day) and arose from the dead early the following Sunday morning.  It also means that Christian’s “Easter’ celebrations are a lie.

    1. Salvation:
We are saved by GRACE and FAITH ONLY – NOT “WORKS”!

Most Christians today have failed to appreciate that God’s grace  withholds His judgment upon them as sinners.  Grace is given to everyone by God to extend His judgment time.  This is to allow Christians to see the error of their ways, repent, confess their sins and to STOP SINNING.

“Whosoever [meaning ANY Christian who claims to] abideth in him SINNETH NOT:

WHOSOEVER [meaning ANY Christian who] SINNETH HATH NOT SEEN HIM, NEITHER KNOWN HIM.”  (1 John 3:3)

      “
And then will I profess unto them [the rejected Christians AFTER the Rapture] I NEVER KNEW YOU: DEPART FROM ME, ye that work iniquity.”  (Matt 7:23)

In this, God provides a pathway to achieving holiness (Heb 12:14) if pursued.

On the contrary, if Christians continue to keep “living in sin” they will ultimately:

“…FRUSTRATE the grace of God”  (Gal 2:21) and eventually:

“…FAIL of the grace of God…
      ”  (Heb 12:15)

Similarly, the Bible clearly states that “…faith without the accompanying works is dead faith” (James 2:17, 26)

“Ye see then how that BY WORKS A MAN IS JUSTIFIED [righteous by God], and NOT BY FAITH ONLY.”  (James 2:24)

Therefore, a ‘gospel’ message that promotes Salvation without any accompanying “works” represents a another “false gospel” (2 Cor 11:4).

  3. The Saturday Sabbath is THE ONLY Sabbath to observe

Christians in the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) churches have been hoodwinked into believing that the seventh day (i.e. ‘Saturday’) Sabbath observance that was commanded under the Law of Moses MUST still be observed today.  Such a belief contradicts the following verses of scripture:

“Let NO MAN [or any SDA Christian] therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, OR OF THE SABBATH DAYS:  17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.”  (Col 2:16-17)

“For whosoever shall keep THE WHOLE LAW [of Moses], and yet offend in one point [of the 613 laws], HE IS GUILTY [of breaking] ALL [the Law – meaning, ALL 613 laws!].”  (James 2:10)

“…CURSED is every one [the SDA Christians] that CONTINUETH NOT IN ALL THINGS which are written in THE BOOK OF THE LAW [of Moses] TO DO THEM.”  (Gal 3:10)

The above examples provide an insight into the many heresies the exist in the churches today — many which are too numerous to mention here.

The above examples illustrate how Satan and his people have defiled or corrupted the beliefs that Christians hold sacred. Sadly, many defend their heretical beliefs but their false gospel will NOT save them AFTER they die.

The point here is that when a “strong young man” Christian (male or female) encounters a False Doctrine, he (or she) needs to search out the scriptures to PROVE it is false and to share your findings with those ensnared with the false doctrine.

"PROVE ALL THINGS; hold fast that which is good." (1 Thes 5:21)"

All of this represents “STRONG MEAT” that if actioned, prepares the individual for the following stages of maturity.
