God’s judgment and this world

God’s judgment upon the inhabitants of this world has happened throughout the history of mankind.

God’s judgment in ancient times

The Prophet Jeremiah identified society’s corruption in his day some 2,600-years ago. The Bible goes on to reveal how today’s corrupt world will parallel Jeremiah’s world back then. In Jeremiah’s day, the Bible reveals how God’s judgment came upon the world back then, as stated below:

An article (linked below) describes events that occurred in the days of Jeremiah the Prophet (circa 600 B.C.). Jeremiah foretold to the Jews and to foreign kings that God’s judgment was imminent.

"Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. 10 See, I have this day SET THEE OVER THE NATIONS and OVER THE KINGDOMS, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant." (Jeremiah 1:9-10)

God’s judgment on our world today – is it imminent?

Jesus Christ said what the world would be like today, as stated below:

"For nation [i.e. Russia] shall rise against nation [i.e. Ukraine], and kingdom [Satan's] against [God's] kingdom: and there shall be FAMINES, and PESTILENCES [i.e. floods and severe storms that produce food insecurity], and EARTHQUAKES, in divers[e] places. 8 ALL THESE ARE THE BEGINNING OF SORROWS." (Matthew 24:7-8)

Comparing ancient and modern civilisations with God’s judgment

There have been many ancient civilisations that have emerged into world powers and fallen, because of their rejection of God.

The ruins of these ancient civilisations can be seen throughout Egypt, Rome, Greece, Syria (Palmyra), and many countries throughout the world.  The article linked below indicates our own ‘western’ and other non-‘Christian’ civilisations today are about to end the same way as these ancient civilisations did.

God's judgment upon the Roman Empire

The Bible reveals that Christ is coming back to establish His own kingdom on Earth. This commences at the Rapture of the Church (1 Thes 4:15-18), followed by the Second Coming of Christ (Matthew 24:27).  The destruction of the world’s nations as we know them today must happen before Christ’s Second Coming.

The article at the link below is quite long.  Please read the verses of scripture carefully to fully appreciate the parallels that the writer identifies in the societies of 2,600 years ago and now.

Scripture also reveals the many aspects of human activity that offend God – which inevitably brings about His judgment.

Any comments you might have regarding the article would be appreciated.

The LORD is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. When he is angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his wrath. (Jeremiah 10:10)
