Is ‘Salvation’ Simply Believing in Jesus?

God's requirement for Christians to RUN their spiritual RACE - Hebrews 12:1-2

The Bible says that SIMPLY BELIEVING in Jesus Christ relates to having one’s level of faith to that of Satan’s devils (James 2:19). These devils actually KNOW Jesus (Luke 8:30-31).

Estimated reading time: 10 minutes

Key Takeaways

  • The Bible states that simply believing in Jesus falls short of true salvation, as even thw demons believe in Jesus.
  • Salvation requires effort, conditions, and the production of spiritual fruit, which opposes modern church beliefs.
  • The book identifies Initial Salvation as a grace gift and Final Salvation as a process of spiritual growth to overcome Satan’s deceptions.
  • Christians must navigate two gospels: one of grace and one of obedience throughout their life, aiming for spiritual maturity.
  • Ultimately, genuine faith involves actively seeking the truth and adhering to God’s teachings, as detailed in the book.

The article that follows relates to chapters in this book (below). Each section challenges many beliefs about the Christian Salvation message being preached today.

The Apostle Paul’s Gospel of Salvation

Paul's Mystery Gospel that involves 'The Race' (Hebrews 12:1)

This Bible-based analysis of the Apostle Paul’s Gospel of Salvation explains the requirements Christians MUST meet for entry into Heaven.

In this, God requires every Christian to enter into and “RUN” in the “RACE that God has established” (Hebrews 12:1-2).

This “RACE” is similar to a cross-country “endurance race” (1 Corinthians 9:26). This is where God requires every Christian to use a map (i.e. their Bible), together with a compass (the Holy Spirit). This is to enable them to reach the Finish Line (or Final Salvation):

Estimated reading time: 6 minutes

Key Takeaways

  • Christians must meet specific requirements for entry into Heaven based on Paul’s Gospel.
  • Paul’s Gospel outlines eight stages of spiritual maturity, starting with the New Birth and leading to Final Salvation.
  • True discipleship requires Christians to forsake all material wealth and fully surrender their lives to Jesus.
  • Unity in the Body of Christ is essential for fulfilling God’s will and each member has a specific role.
  • Christians must acquire the Gifts of the Spirit to perform good works, such as healing and preaching, as part of their ministry.
"...and LET US RUN WITH PATIENCE THE RACE THAT IS SET BEFORE US, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith..." (Hebrews 12:1-2)

Parable of the Education System

Parable of the Education System

Jesus Christ used parables to describe what the Kingdom of Heaven was like. This article represents a modern-day parable of the education system. As such systems of education are found in many countries, they are used to illustrate the Biblical truth about Salvation and how God expects His people to progress and mature from beginning (Initial Salvation) to the end (Final Salvation).

The scripture verse that underscores the message in this post is this:

“It is written in the prophets, And THEY [ALL truly 'born-again' Christians] shall be ALL TAUGHT [PERSONALLY] of God [the Father]. Every [truly 'born-again'] man [or woman] therefore that hath HEARD, and hath LEARNED of [God] THE FATHER, COMETH UNTO ME [Jesus at the Rapture].” (John 6:45)

Estimated reading time: 11 minutes

Key Takeaways

  • The article presents a modern-day parable of the education system, illustrating the spiritual journey from Initial Salvation to Final Salvation.
  • Just as students progress through educational phases, Christians must grow in faith and understanding to achieve eternal life.
  • The parable details five levels of spiritual maturity: Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary, University, and Post Graduate levels of faith.
  • Each level requires Christians to engage in studying scripture and performing good works, ultimately leading to spiritual fruitfulness.
  • The message warns against reliance on human teachings and emphasizes the necessity of Bible-based knowledge for salvation, highlighting the importance of progressing in faith.

The Gospel of Initial and Final Salvation

Initial and Final Salvation

Throughout the last two centuries of Christianity, the ‘gospel’ being preached centers upon Salvation through faith alone (Ephesians 2:9).

However, this Faith Alone ‘gospel’ fails to address the need for any accompanying “works” mentioned in Ephesians 2:10. In this, Paul said, we were “…created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them“.

Estimated reading time: 10 minutes

Key Takeaways

  • The article discusses the importance of both faith and works in achieving Initial and Final Salvation.
  • Initial Salvation occurs when a sinner accepts Christ, but it does not include works; Final Salvation requires works that produce spiritual fruit.
  • Scripture emphasizes the need for Christians to endure to the end, hold fast to hope, and demonstrate spiritual maturity through good works.
  • The article encourages readers to assess their faith journey and the signs of spiritual growth associated with Final Salvation.
  • Ultimately, both Initial and Final Salvation require a combination of faith and the fruits of works performed in a believer’s life.

Presenting — Jesus Christ’s TEN Commandments

Christ’s Commandments written on the tables of the human heart

Jesus Christ presented His Ten Commandments in the form of warnings that Christians should take notice, that their Salvation is at risk. If they ignore these warnings, they will NOT inherit eternal life with Him.

In this, Jesus said:

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)

The above verse could also be interpreted as saying:

“If ye [really and sincerely] love me [as you claim you do, then], keep [within your heart and OBEY each of] my commandments.” (John 14:15)

Recently I discovered the following Ten Commandments of Jesus that are expressed in the form of ‘negative commandments’. In this, they are presented as warnings from Jesus for every Christian to take notice.  As an example, one warning in John 3:5 says they “…CANNOT ENTER INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD”.

Revelation’s Seven Churches

God's Plumbline

  • Christ approves works among several churches but rebukes the last church, Laodicea, for its lukewarm state.
  • The article concludes that modern Christianity increasingly reflects the self-focus of the Laodicean church rather than the faithfulness seen in Smyrna and Philadelphia.
