The Apostle Paul’s Gospel

The unique characteristic of the Apostle Paul’s Gospel is that it contains a “mystery“:

"Now to him [God] that is of power to stablish you [as being found worthy of Salvation] ACCORDING TO MY [Paul's] GOSPEL, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of THE MYSTERY, which was kept secret since the world began," (Romans 16:25)
"And for me, that utterance [from the Lord] may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known THE MYSTERY OF THE GOSPEL," (Ephesians 6:19)

The Apostle Paul’s Gospel verses Jesus Christ’s Gospel

In essence, these two “Gospels” that should be preached by Christians fall into the following two categories:

Comparison between Paul's Gospel and Christ's Gospel

Salvation is a Contract with God

Most Christians today have failed to appreciate that God has placed CONDITIONS upon Salvation that individual Christians MUST MEET for Final Salvation to be achieved.

Conditional Salvation is a contract between God and the Christian. All Terms and Conditions must be met for Salvation to be realized

Four examples of the CONDITIONS that Christians must meet for Final Salvation are:

SINLESSNESS— “We know that whosoever is born [again] of God SINNETH NOT; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself [from sinning]…” (1 John 3:8-9)
HOLINESS—“Follow PEACE with all men, AND HOLINESS, without which no man shall see the Lord:” (Hebrews 12:14)
PERFECTION—“Therefore leaving [behind us] the principles of the doctrine of Christ [or the Gospel of Jesus Christ], LET US GO ON UNTO PERFECTION;” (Hebrews 6:1; Matt. 5:48)
DOING GODS WILL—“Not every [Christian] one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but [ONLY] HE THAT DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21)

The Gospel of Jesus Christ

This Gospel is preached:

  • To all unsaved people who need a Saviour from spending eternity in Hell (Rev 20:15)
  • To remind sinners that Jesus Christ is the ONLY Saviour of our soul (Acts 4:12)
I will make you fishers of men - Matt 4:19
  • To reveal His pre-existence in eternity past with God as “The Word” (John 1:1-2)
  • To reveal His birth, death, resurrection and ascension into Heaven (Isa. 7:14; John 19:29-31; Acts 1:8-11)
  • To reveal that Jesus is returning someday soon in the clouds to take the “members of His body on Earth” at the Pre-tribulation Rapture back to Heaven with Him (1 Thes 4:15-18; 1 Cor. 15:52; John 14:2; Rev. 20:6)

The Apostle Paul’s Gospel

This comprises of the following 6 parts:

  • (1) ALL Christians who desire to become TRUE disciples of Jesus Christ (Mark 9:40) must have been water baptized. This act symbolises their “signing of the contract”. Their water baptism represents their personal commitment to serving God and Christ. (2 Peter 1:4).
  • (2) Such Christians must progress through the various stages of spiritual development after becoming a true “child of the living God” (Gal. 4:19) and maturing to become a “son” or daughter of God” (2 Corinthians 6:18)
  • (3) All Christians MUST grow (and mature) spiritually, in much the same way as a fruit-producing tree matures from being a “seed” into producing “fruit” for eating and bearing more “seed”:
Plant growth and spiritual growth
Plant growth and spiritual growth
Who hath [spiritual] EARS TO HEAR, let him hear [what the Spirit saith unto the churches – Rev. 2:7, 17; 29; 3:6; 13; 22].” (Matthew 13:9)
Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower...But he that received seed into the good ground [of his heart] is he that HEARETH the word, and UNDERSTANDETH it; which also BEARETH FRUIT, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” (Jesus speaking in Matt. 13:18-23)
The image describes the eight stages of Initial and Final Salvation that are necessary for Salvation
The Eight Stages of Christian Salvation

As it is with a plant’s growth, Christians are to first hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ (the “seed” stage). They must then STRIVE to enter into God’s kingdom (Luke 13:24). God then requires Christian’s to GROW MORE in spiritual knowledge, wisdom, understanding (Col. 1:9) and power (1 Cor. 4:20). If that standard set by God is not achieved, they will not experience the “New Birth” (John 3:3-8).

  • (4) At a point during the Christian’s maturing stage, the required amount of spiritual “fruit” is to be produced:

Verse 2: “Every branch [or Christian grafted] in me [Jesus] THAT BEARETH NOT FRUIT he [meaning God the Father] taketh away [from Christ]: and every branch that beareth fruit, HE [God the Father] PURGETH [or prunes] IT [back], THAT IT MAY BRING FORTH MORE FRUIT...
Jesus is the Vine, we are the branches - John 15:1-8
Verse 6: IF A MAN ABIDE NOT IN ME [by failing to produce “fruit”], he is [cut-off from Christ by God and] cast forth as a [fruitless] branch, and is [become] withered [spiritually]; and men [or angels (Matt. 13:41-42) later] gather them, and cast them into the [Lake of] fire, and they are burned.” (John 15:2, 6)

Christians are required to represent the ‘Body of Christ’

(5) ALL Christians are required to form the spiritual members of the Body of Christ on Earth in their local congregations, as shown in the image that follows.

Now ye are THE BODY of Christ, and [individual] members in particular.” (1 Corinthians 12:27)
“For by one Spirit are we all baptized into ONE BODY [of Christ], whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
14 For THE BODY [of Christ] is NOT ONE MEMBER, but many [members].
15 If THE FOOT [ministry] shall say, Because I am not THE HAND [ministry], I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
16 And if THE EAR [ministry] shall say, Because I am not THE EYE [ministry], I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling [or NOSE ministry]?
18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him...”
(1 Cor. 12:13-27)

The Spirit Baptism occurs when God baptizes the above (individual) members into Christ’s Body of Believers.

For by one [Holy] Spirit are we all BAPTIZED INTO ONE BODY, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” (1 Cor. 12:13)
  • (6) All Christians are required to “run in their spiritual race that God has set before them”:
“...and let us RUN WITH PATIENCE THE RACE THAT IS SET BEFORE US, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith...” (Hebrews 12:1-2)

If Christians fail to commence “running their race” or they fail to “cross the Finish Line” of their race having being “perfected” along the way (2 Cor. 13:9), this means they have NO Salvation.

and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith

Summary of the Apostle Paul’s Gospel

The Apostle Paul’s Gospel (or “My Gospel”) is a HARD GOSPEL for Christians to accept and agree to. It is NOT a popular gospel to preach, because it imposes a range of requirements on the believer to achieve certain spiritual goals (or CONDITIONS) in their lives that many are reluctant to accept. This is because it represents ‘CONDITIONAL SALVATION’.

One of these ‘difficult requirements’ is to KNOW what God’s will is for you every day of your life—and then doing it.

Doing God’s will should ultimately lead to producing the required “fruit” into His kingdom. Such “fruit” represents the souls of His children that are perishing in the many false gospels that Satan’s people have been preaching in the churches. One common ‘gospel’ is Once Saved, Always Saved.

Preaching Paul’s Gospel will also bring rejection from other Christians and even opposition as well. However in this regard, Jesus said:

And if any [Christian] man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to SAVE THE WORLD. 48 He [or the Christian] that rejecteth me, and RECEIVETH NOT MY WORDS, hath one [meaning God the Father] that judgeth him: THE WORD THAT I HAVE SPOKEN, THE SAME [words of Mine that he rejected in this life] SHALL JUDGE HIM IN THE LAST DAY [or in the next life]. 49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.” (John 12:47-49)
